Happy St Patrick's Day !!
This is from a few years ago. It was when I was doing caricatures for the music pages of the South China Morning Post. The subject for this one was just a generic Riverdance illo .. no caricature.
That seemed a bit boring to me so I drew an Irish mate of mine, who also worked at the paper as a journalist, as the dancer. The best part was I did it a week before publication and then went on holidays. Nobody knew I'd done it, especially him. Sure enough a week later the 'grenade' went off.
In some ways it was a shame to miss the reaction in the office, which I think was pretty good, but it was also pretty amusing to get a string of texts soon after it was discovered.
